Tibet - Looking back
My last journey to Tibet was in 1993. There was hardly a difference to my first three trips between 1985 and 1987. It was still a difficult journey to reach Tholing and Tsaparang in the former kingdom Guge at the extreme west of Tibet. Nowadays the southern road along the Tsangpo Vally is paved, the telephone lines, we were following for hundreds of kilometers, disappeared. The book is a memory of Tibet as it looked like before the great changes came. Many photographs were not published inm my previous books.I also took from my archive a number of b/w photographs.
